Salt Mound Arts Consulting provides curating, teaching artist and nonprofit management services. Clients include East Side Arts Council (MN), Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MN), Rutherfurd Hall (NJ), Alice Austen House Museum (NY), Woonsocket Neighborhood Development Corporation (RI), Nonprofit Finance Fund (NY), Center for Arts Education (NY), International Charter School (RI), and Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts (NY).
Sarah Cunningham, owner of Salt Mound Arts Consulting, has 20 years of hands-on experience in the nonprofit arts and education sectors. Currently she is the director of Atkinson Gallery at Santa Barbara City College. From 2006-2011, she served as the director of the College of New Jersey Art Gallery. During her career, Sarah has curated over 30 contemporary art exhibitions and provided administrative support for many more. Previously, she worked as the director of programs for the Worcester Center for Crafts and served as the neighborhood artist-in-residence for the Woonsoocket Neighborhood Development Corporation, curator of exhibitions and public programs at the Alice Austen House Museum and executive director/curator of the Albany Center Galleries. She was also the founding director of the Empire State Partnerships Professional Development Program at the New York State Alliance for Arts Education. Cunningham received her BA in American Studies from Tufts University and her MFA in Art Photography from Syracuse University.
